VAPORMAX 2020
Designed with sustainability in mind, the Nike VaporMax 2020 is made from at least 50% recycled content. That’s a lot of trash! As part of Nike’s ‘Move to Zero’ journey the Brand Experience Design team used the launch of this product to create awareness through experiences around the world showcasing Nike’s commitment to sustainability.
Virtual and physical experiences engaged and educated people through a series of makers courses with collaborators and creatives who have a history of using sustainability as a focus in their work. In partnership with these creatives we created access to open source information, ‘Trash Hacker’ kits and a series of makers courses for anyone to participate in.
All materials used in the construction of these experiences and in the makers courses themselves were either rented, recycled or repurposed as a way to offset the carbon footprint of this plan.
